Tracie F. Craft
State Director
Columbus and Dayton, Ohio

Tracie is the State Director for the Ohio Chapter of the Black Alliance for Educational Options. Tracie is a native Daytonian. She graduated from Patterson Cooperative H.S. and attended Sinclair Community College where she majored in Computer Information Systems. Before becoming involved with BAEO, Tracie spent many years working in the legal field and received numerous awards and certificates of recognition. During the 2004 BAEO Symposium in Milwaukee, WI, Tracie received the “Unsung Hero” award; the first of its kind given within the BAEO organization. As one of the original founders of Ohio BAEO, Tracie has served in many capacities. Today, she is charged with informing, educating, empowering and mobilizing parents in Dayton, Springfield and Columbus. Over the past five years, Tracie has been successful in implementing and hosting programs and workshops that encourage effective parental involvement strategies, while also leading to student improvement. In addition to her work with BAEO, Tracie has dedicated many hours to volunteering at local private, public and charter schools. She regularly attends school board and city commission meetings, taking every opportunity to introduce BAEO to schools, the community and parents. She has been intricately involved in tutoring underprivileged youth and has conducted numerous basic computer-training courses for low-income parents. Tracie strongly believes that, “One man can be a crucial ingredient on a team but, one man cannot be a team.” With that, she continues to partner with like-minded organizations in an effort to provide parents with quality educational information that will meet their child’s needs. It is her personal goal and the charge of BAEO to ensure parents are informed about their options, inspired to exercise choice and empowered to make better educational decisions for their children. Tracie F. Craft has two daughters Jasmine (16) and Daaryn'ah (12).

Ericka L. Murphy
State Coordinator
Dayton and Columbus, Ohio

Ericka L. Murphy, was born and raised in Dayton Ohio. She is the eldest of her two siblings (a brother and a sister). She graduated from Meadowdale High school in 1987. From there she continued her education at the University of Dayton (UD). After attending UD for two years, she moved to Columbus, Ohio attending Franklin University, where she majored in Business Management. Ericka worked for the Dayton Daily News for 10 years as the Preprint Coordinator. There she received numerous Sales Support Awards. While employed for the Dayton Daily News, Ericka completed and received many certificates in Management and Leadership classes. After leaving the Dayton Daily News, Ericka went to work for the ARISE! Academy a charter/community high school located Dayton, OH. During her brief tenure, she received the Employee of the Year award and was quickly became one of the schools most valuable employees. Currently, she has been blessed with the opportunity to work as the State Coordinator for the Black Alliance for Educational Options (BAEO), of which she became a member in October 2004. Ericka has devoted many hours volunteering with the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). She also contributes numerous hours to various youth groups, church functions and Corpus Christi Catholic School. Ericka is married to Charles Murphy. They have 6 children, two sets of twins, Celeste, Chelsea, Brandi, Brandon, Breana and Devon. Ericka’s personal motto is: Believing is Achieving.

Larry Lindsey
Field and Office Coordinator
Dayton and Springfield, Ohio

Larry is the Field and Office Coordinator for the Ohio Chapter of the Black Alliance for Educational Options (BAEO). Larry is a native Daytonian. He graduated from Colonel White H.S. and attended Sinclair Community College and Rets Technical College where he received his Associate’s degree in Computer Administration. Prior to working with BAEO, Larry spent several years working with the Dayton Urban League and the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services assisting with the implementation of programs to benefit youth and senior citizens in Montgomery County. Additionally, Larry was the manager of the City of Dayton’s Computer Clubhouse and Wright Computer Connections after-school program. Both initiatives were designed to teach low-income children the importance of technology and introduce them to computers, software and the Internet. Larry’s began his work with BAEO in 2006 as a field worker. During this time, Larry canvassed the Dayton and Columbus communities relentlessly informing parents about their educational options and arming families with the pertinent information needed to make informed educational decisions. Mr. Lindsey devotes numerous hours volunteering with schools, churches and community organizations. Larry is married with three children.
